October 10 2010 and a beautifully sunny day on the Fylde Coast saw Blackpool celebrate World Mental Health Day with an event at Blackpool Cricket Club, the centrepiece being a football match between local users and staff versus a team of Soap stars. It's a Goal! was proud to provide two players and Jerry Lakin and Chris Tipton both appeared for the Seasiders, and did their bit in a convincing 7-2 win over their famous opponents. All credit to local It's a Goal! champion Katie Llevo for organising the event which attracted over two thousand people and which showcased a lot of the great work that is going on in the area for mental health service users.
