Above is Rob Stapley, the new IAG Head Coach at Bury FC, who took a central role during the promotional event at Gigg Lane as It's a Goal! launched at the famous old Lancashire club. Parallels were drawn with Bury's promotion and their new status in League 1, as It's a Goal! look to build on their successes at other clubs. A warm and supportive welcome was given to the specially invited audience by Paul Weller, Bury's Community Manager, followed up by a entertaining speech from the Bury NHS Trust's Chief Executive John Boyington CBE. IAG's National Development Director Pete Sayers spoke about the history and philosophy of the programme, Val Metcalfe MBE talked about Nacro's involvement and ex player Malachy Murray put his own special twist on proceedings with a poignant story of his journey. Rob then finished the formal side of things with his view on how he saw the programme working at Bury with Nacro Project Co-ordinator Steve McVickers smoothly hosting the show.
